Playing Free

Context

When we are young we play sport because we genuinely enjoy it. As we get older, more things become attached to that. Stress, pressure, expectations, etc.Grounding ourselves in the bigger purpose allows us to play more free, ultimately performing at a higher level. Continuing to play sport whether it is your job to compete, or coach the sport, re-centering ourselves in a pursuit of excellence vs a destination.

Outcome

Playing for the love of the game. Yes, it is also a job but getting back to the root of why we do what we do.
