Roles & Relationships

Context

When thinking about high performing teams, there is a very real tension between personal connection and professional commitment. Some thrive on personal connection, others on clarity of purpose and shared goals. This session does not argue which is more important, but acknowledges that each influences the other.

Outcome

Bring awareness to what connection looks like on the team,
Identify when our level of connection (present or absent) is hindering our ability to perform as a team

Main Questions

What does it mean to “like” someone on your team? Is it respect, chemistry, comfort, shared effort?
What do we risk when we prioritize relationships over roles?
How do we show up for each other when the relationship isn’t currently “there,” but the mission still matters?
